The Future Of Hong Kong Is Continued Decline

I think the future of Hong Kong is continued decline.

The only reason Hong Kong became Hong Kong was because of 1949, in Mao Zi time. Now, you don't need Hong Kong anymore. Shanghai was the largest financial center between New York and London before the before the war, Second World War.

China's opening up so we don't need Hong Kong anymore. It's going to continue to decline. When the Renminbi, the Chinese currency, is convertible, yes, I would expect the Hong Kong dollar to disappear.

Markets: Russia, China, Japan

I am still buying shares in China, Russia, Japan and some parts of the world if I find something good. The US stock market is at an all-time high and I don't particularly like buying things at all-time highs.

Chinese Shares: My Plan

I haven't sold any Chinese shares and I have been investing there for decades. My plan is that my children someday are going to look back and say, "He must have been very smart, oh! God look at all these Chinese shares, we've got rich!" That's my plan but if things develop in certain ways I'll have to sell, I mean if for instance a bubble develops I have to sell. So, I may sell some of my Chinese shares between here and there. (iShares FTSE/Xinhua China 25 Index ETF (FXI), iShares MSCI Emerging Markets Index ETF (EEM))

The Worst Market Crash In My Lifetime

In 2008 we had a problem because of debt, the debt in 2008 was nothing compared to what's happening now. In 2008 the Chinese had a lot of money saved for a rainy day. It started raining and they started spending the money.

Now even the Chinese have debt and the debt is so much higher. The Federal Reserve's balance sheet is up over five times since 2008. It will be the worst thing in my lifetime. China: A Trade War Will Be Disastrous (iShares FTSE/Xinhua China 25 Index ETF (FXI))

I am just watching. I haven`t figured out what Donald Trump is going to do. He keeps saying that he is going to hit them very hard. Trade wars have always been disastrous for everybody. Nobody has ever won a trade war. Trade wars have always led to bankruptcies. So, Mr. Trump does not seem to care about all of that, he thinks he is smarter than history.

I'm Very Worried About the Global Economy

I am very worried about the global economy in the next few months. First of all it has been 8 years since we had an economic recession in America. Historically we had them every four to seven years. There are many problems in the world economy. Donald Trump has promised a tare war with Mexico, China, Korea, Japan... If he does that, my God, we are going to have serious problems! Trump: Trade Wars, Serious Problems

Trade wars have always led to serious problems and often to real it has led to real war. So the facts are all in place for something like that to happen. I would like to think that there is some way that we can avert it. History does not show us any reason to be optimistic.
